Firewheel Golf Park is a 63 hole golf course facility located in Garland, Texas. The facility boasts one 27 hole golf facility (The Brdiges Golf Course) and two additional 18 hole courses, The Old Course and The Lakes Course.
The Old Course at Firewheel Golf Park opened for play in 1983. The course was designed by Richard M. Phelps.
The Old Course is a traditional layout. The Old Course topography consists of slow moving streams winding throughout gently rolling terrain. Tree lined fairways, 65 strategically placed bunkers and heavily wooded areas. Water hazards come into play throughout the design, such as on hole #18, a 400-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot and an approach shot over the same creek, which winds through the hole.
Blue tees: par-72, 7,054 yards, 74.1 / 129
White tees: par-72, 6,617 yards, 71.7 / 125
Red tees: par-72, 5,692 yards, 71.7 / 117

Large trees make some tee shots difficult for those who like to draw (or tend to hook) their shots. Not too difficult if you hit it straight (isn't that what they always say?)...

Love this course - have played it for years; but I have never before seen it in this poor of condition. Very thin fairways; greens really need water and work. Hopefully will get better this summer.

Tbox good...little firm. Greens good. Fairways thin but healthy. Bunkers sucked! Hard panned more dirt than sand
